⚙️ App Settings

The App Settings menu is compact but fulfills an absolutely essential task for the ergonomics and accessibility of the app. Since the InfoRapid KnowledgeBase Builder is used cross-platform on a wide variety of devices – from small smartphone displays to high-resolution 4K desktop monitors – you can adjust the scaling of the entire user interface to your individual visual and operational needs here.

🎛️ Size of the user interface controls

In this dialog box, you control the global zoom factor for all menus, fonts, buttons, and dialog boxes of the application (the default value is 100%).

  • Decrease [-]: Reduces the size of all UI elements step by step.
    • Practical use: Ideal on devices with limited space (e.g., small laptops) when you want to put maximum focus on displaying the 3D diagram and keep the menu bars as space-saving as possible.
  • Increase [+]: Increases the size of the user interface step by step.
    • Practical use: An absolute must for high-resolution displays (4K/Retina), where native fonts often look tiny. In addition, this function is extremely useful on smartphones and tablets to make the buttons for touch operation larger and easier to hit with your fingers.
  • Reset [100%]: Immediately resets the scaling back to the factory default value if you accidentally made the menus too large or too small.

💡 Pro Tip: Solution for "fonts too small"

After the initial installation on modern, high-resolution screens, many users are surprised by texts in the menu that seem extremely small or labels that are difficult to read. Before you painstakingly change the resolution or scaling of your entire operating system: A few clicks on Increase [+] in this menu will solve the problem immediately. The menus will become perfectly readable, while the sharpness and display of your actual MindMap diagram remain completely unaffected.
